Matariki 2024

We're excited to begin the new year with a few gigs, the first of 2024 for us, after welcoming our new pēpi in Janurary!

Friday 27th & Saturday 28th June, Murihiku Matariki 

We're excited to be back in Invercargill for Matariki, performing at 6pm both nights, and at 4pm each afternoon we'll be hosting interactive shows focused around the ngahere

 

Thursday 4th July Maanawatia a Matariki ki Pukekohekohe 

Excited to be invited to headline this festival right here in our local neighbourhood! Performing 8.40pm so wear your warm clothes and come along!

Reimagine Festival - Taranaki

We're looking forward to being back in Taranaki in October for a week at the Taranaki Arts Festival! We're bringing school workshops to hundreds of tamariki across the region, 2 ticketed shows, as well as a special free relaxed performance, "available for anyone who could benefit from a comfortable environment - designed to welcome neurodiverse people, those with sensory and communication needs and audiences with learning disabilities."

This refreshing performance includes elements of folk, soul, haka, and a touch of jazz to
bring audiences of all ages together in a celebration of the natural world that surrounds us.
Aro perform songs in a mix of Te Reo Māori and English, blending the two worlds of Charles
and Emily in song.

Aro: He Wai | Auckland Arts Festival 2023 (Take 2!)

"Storytelling – evocative and diverse, wholly original, and anchored in Aotearoa."

Enjoy the lyrical and interlocking vocals of Emily and Charles of Aro as they present He Wai, a collection of waiata celebrating the marine life that live in the waters off the coasts of this beautiful country, along with award-nominated waiata about the native birdlife of this land.

Fun for the whole family, this performance includes elements of folk, soul, haka, and jazz to bring audiences of all ages together in a celebration of the natural world that surrounds us.

Children, rangatahi, and adults alike are encouraged to dress up as their favourite animal or in their best dancing clothes and groove to the music of this celebrated and talented duo.
